Al and Liane Haviland had a vision for their sunroom and deck, along with plenty of individual ideas. The challenge was to bring them into one cohesive space that felt comfortable, functional, and unmistakably theirs.
Through conversation and 3D concept presentations, we explored how the different elements could work together and refined the details before construction.
A DETAIL WORTH LISTENING FOR
The sunflower that made it personal.
During the design process, Liane mentioned the possibility of incorporating a sunflower into the privacy screen. She was also clear about what she didn’t want: something that looked like a daisy.
I carried that detail forward, developing a distinctive sunflower-inspired privacy screen and thoughtfully repeating the motif within the project.
It’s the kind of small observation that can transform a design from attractive to genuinely personal.
